Is there a benefit if i well upgrade the clock for this CDP? Cause it is connected to the PPL & VCO before it is distributed to the digital cicuit.
Or is it possible to connect the clock directly to the CD decoder and terminate the PPL & VCO. PPL & VCO is controlling the pitch of the CDP. Help please.......... Thanks, Farl |

Hi Farl,
The clock distribution in the CD7300 is quite complex. Just changing the clock will not bring you much benefit, it has been discussed elsewhere. If you do a search on this (and other) forum, you will find some more info. Regards, Ray. |

Thanks Rey.
What about if I will cancell the clock input of the DAC and change it to a low jitter clock with the same freq. Is it possible? Farl |

No, that won't work. The decoder and DAC need the same clock, it needs to be synchronious. Same goes for the MP3 and CD-text decoder chips that are aso attached to the clock signal. The thing that might have a positive effect is to get rid of the VCO and PLL and insert a stable clock there, with a separate PSU. You will lose the pitch control feature though. Regards, Ray. |

Hi Ray,
Actually this is my first option, to bypass the PPL & VCO and connect a kwack clock after this. Thank you so much for your great help. I really appreciate it. Cheers...... Farley |

I had this player sometime back. The CD7300 does need a lot of work to make it sound really good and the clock part is quite tricky. Good luck

Hi Ruach,
Can you please give us some idea of what you did with this player, so that I can follow that also? Thanks, Farley |
