I was sceptical but decided to try altering the cpu load and yes there was a difference in noise. With the cpu loaded at 100% the pot had be moved up 20% to hear any noise compared to normal loading. (No playback.) It's a music only PC so doesn't have a lot to do, normal loading is <6%. To get the 100% cpu loading I used 'Battlechess', I guess it's using all the spare processing power to think about it's next move. There's a link to Battlechess 3rd post from the end. If your PC is heavily loaded already you might not see a difference. |
