If the trimming gets critical the laser is near end of life! Been there done that.

Hi Elso,
There is a lot of truth to that one. Also if other adjustments are out the adjustments will be critical until you correct the far out one. Looking at the eye pattern usually gives a clue, and the servo outputs.

Yes, but frustrating as you then install a new laser in 15 minutes and all problems are gone as by magic.....

Ahhhh Elso, but you did remember.

I am always sure before I condem a head as well. It takes me much less time now than it used to. I remember many problems.
