Happy Easter everyone!
I've recently found a SPDIF-out on my motherboard and want to make a circuit to use this feature. I've seen ESP's version of the circuit but cannot find the CS4334 IC in South Africa. Which is a bummer because I can't seem to find any other DAC chips in single qty. So I've decided on the CS4341 chip which I can get from RS Components (@ 2x the price )I've actually finished a PCB for the CS8416 and CS4334 combo. I'll include it to see your opinions (Who knows, maybe someone can help me get some chips ).Could anyone please critisize the circuit I'm currently working on... It's still in the EARLY stages since I started last night, but maybe someone can point out mistakes early on. PS. The keyboard connection is probably incorrect but my main concern is the interfacing between the chips. PPS. There is still an 20x4 LCD to be interfaced and a comms port for PC control. PPPS. One thing I can ask is about the output caps (C36,C38)on the DAC. The datasheet gives the equation: C = (RL + 560) / 4.Pi.Fs.(R_load * 560)Does anyone have a suggestion or eqplanation? Any input is welcome. Thank you. Wynand. |

just a few things from my side,
I would get rid of the 29kHz RC filter at the output.... also I would replace the couple capacitor to something higher grade (film capacitor) I would give each chip their own power supply filter section... good luck ! doede
