Hi all,
Anyone had experience of this? I just picked up a Marantz CD60 SE and the mechanism rattles as if loose, causing spikes in the audio output. It's better after warming up (?) but it's as though the mechanism is loose, even though I can find no evidence of this. It's a shame as it's built well, nice TDA1541A with good caps, separate variable output pcb and sounds very smooth when not sending nasty jolts through my speakers! Any help will be appreciated. Mat |

Look at the magnetic top clamp there is an adjustment for clearence up and down, it has to be in the middle when playing if out of adjustment it could scrape and cause mecanical clattering noises and vary the motor speed with could cause gliches in the digital processing (error correcting) and give noises out of the speakers.
