Can carbon resistors ward off evil spirits?

I’m really an idiot when it comes to electronics but with a little help I managed to build a DDDAC1543 MK2. I live in an apartment and I have always experienced some kind interference within my computer driven systems that resulted in harsh highs, especially noticeable in vocals, with some recording being affected much more than others. After adding 12 extra chips to my 12-chip DAC setup I needed to change the 180 ohm Rload resistors to 91 ohm resistors and choose Holco. The harshness increased quite drastically. I then tried a 91 ohm (.5 watt) Tantalum with noticeable improvement. A .5 watt 91 ohm Riken produced even better results. I could not locate any higher watt 91 ohm Rikens so I used two 1 watt Rikens in series and noticed an incredible improvement.

Any comments or suggestions on what’s going on here? Anybody have similar experiences? I suspect the interference might be computer related and that the carbon Rikens are somehow filtering RFI.

Yes..carbon resistors filter RFI better than say metalfilm resistors I have been told.
