Hi,
From memory the TDA1305 is used in the Cyrus DAD3 player, as the basic DAC chip. I find it disapointing / uninspiring. - Sound comes out, but its generic. To be fair that player isn't viewed as an audio disaster though. It is a voltage output DAC so there's not much in the way of an output stage in that player - maybe thats part of the issue. I guess that'd make using it cheap and easy The TDA1302 isnt a DAC chip, it's a "data amplifier & laser supply supply circuit for CD player and read only optical systems" so its not really a case of which is better. might be useful to have a look at the datasheets ...alldatasheet.com is a good (i.e. free) source and compare.
