Question CS4334 dac

Hi,

I'm playing on making a CS4334 dac board to mount in an old cd player in the future.

From the datasheet it follows that if no SCK signal is detected on pin 2 then an internal SCK is generated by dividing Master clock by 2 else the device operates with the external SCK signal.

Which one is the better option internal or external SCK ?

I was thinking of leaving pin 2 floating or grounded, and using flip-flops just before the dac.

I just wondered if one was inherently better than the other. Don't want to be adding extra parts in !

Datasheet says that internal and external are identical if external clock is syncronised with LRCLK (WS). It would be fed by a saa7310 so I don't know if that would be the case!

How would you recommend connecting the dac ?

A more pertinent question would have been "Which one of the two options will work?" Internal SCK will not work.
