hi,
would it be better to use relay to select digital inputs or to use something like 74HC00..... also - what about having only a coupling cap to the input of the cs841x and putting something like sn75179,ds8923,ad8561,.....which one to use... i am confused (i was reading in digital part of the forum - to many opinions and now i don't know what to choose really).....which one will be better...... i would like to use 74HC00 to choose inputs but i don't know if it is better than plain relay and also i am not sure if i would benefit from having something before going into the cs841x and what to use...?!

IMHO, you would do best to just use the CS8416 and just implement the on-chip input selection.
