The way I understood it, years ago when the pro cd burners first hit the studios was, the major labels fought in congress first to prohibit this and failing that to protect their market through scms and a small royalty on sales of blank media. So their trying to take away a right to one off something you bought and paid for twice. Once when you bought the original CD and again to by the blank. It's going to get a lot worse with music being stolen over the internet. Why should I suffer and struggle to be a musician when I can't make enough royalties to pay my bills.
