I have a SR-4300 for home cinema, i am very pleased with it, very good sounding, and value.
I use it within my stereo speaker and poweramp setup, L and R are via pre-out connected to my poweramp and speakers. The surroundspeakers are amplified by the Marantz. As the stereo speakers are TL's and can do very low frequency, i use no subwoofer.(yet) With set up of speakers its normally possible to choose: subwoofer: yes/no Center: small/ large/ no Front R+L : small/ large/ no Surround L+R: small/ large/ no suround-back: small/ no (This is told in manual also) I want to select all speakers large and selected no subwoofer. But when i select no subwoofer the Marantz doesn't give the possibility to choose a large surround R+L speaker anymore. When i choose subw: yes, its possible to choose large, small & no again. Has anyone the same experience? Or is this a 4300 series "bug" (btw: a friend of my has a SR 4200 and doesn't have this selection problem) thanks!

Hi tubee,
I use a SR6300 in a setup close to your description. When selecting no sub, it is still possible to select large/small on surround as it should be. I once had a situation that a selection was inhibited for unknown reason. After switching the SR completely off/on it was OK again. Hope this helps, Dick

Hello Dick
Thanks for reply. So its no *300 series bug as the 6300 has not this problem. Tried that, switched the The 4300 off completely after every use, (also to avoid my children playing with it...) and the large speaker option on surroundchannels R/L still cannot be chosen. But i want to choose all speaker large to get the low frequency effects on my speakers without a sub. Thats where the 4300 is designed for. (i am shaking on the cauch allready with War of the worlds 2) So to get an answer to this phenomenon will probably have to send a (e) mail to Marantz. regards:
