Default Couple of Questions about the California Audiio Labs Delta Transport

Looks like the manufacturer of this brand has gone and I cannot find any servicing manuals online as yet.

Fault or normal:Every time you press "Stop" key on the CAL Delta model transport the unit reverts to the beginning of track 1 and starts playing. Shouldn't it Stop as all other players seem to do??

Also, the unit seems to skip a bit at times when playing computer burn't CDR discs. is there an accurate reason why it does this?
The unit was built circa 1996.
Thanks.
