There is quite a bit you can do to the QED digit. At least two threads on this forum discuss the possibilities and have links to some sites about modding it.

Personally, I would move its internals into a nice metal case, improve the power supplies and improve the reclocking.

I have a QED digit. I'd get another but the market price is a bit high at the moment.

I put my digit in a new aluminium box, and tapped off the 16bit I2S for a tda1543 NOS dac. I switch between the outputs depending on music, and mood, etc.

Is that a Marantz cd80 as transport ?

Another vote for the Digit here. I bought a Digit & two Positrons in 1993 and did the HiFi World 2-power supply mod. Have been completely free of any urge to upgrade ever since. A remarkable cure.

Source is an even older Marantz CD-52 MkII, then goes into a Naim 32.5 / 250 & Totem Model 1's
