Hi!
Bought not so long ago very strange CD-Player - Marantz CD63, but not as usual CD63, it is completely different! Looks like Philips CD101 - top feed loader, CDM1 transport. Anyone know anything about this CDP? Is there is any mods for it? AFAIK it is probably uses 14-bit chipset, can I make I2S out of it ? |

You are correct it's a CD101 rebadged. There are some threads on this , also the similar CD104. I think it is too hard to get digital out of the player due to the 14bit nature of the player. However there are some mods described Philips CD104 tweaks Many of these will also apply to the CD63. I'd suggest perhaps swapping the caps on the decoder board, replacing/removing the DC blockers and ejoy it. They sound surprisingly good, especially in the bass. Does it work ? How do you like the sound ? |
