Hi
I am doing a project on my University, where im am building a SPDIF to analog converter with the aim of reproducing the audio as precise as possible. We (my group) need a application that are able to view a wave file sample by sample, by that i mean that we want to see the actual integer value for every sample in the file. We need this to verify that the data is passed through our (digital) system without beeing distorted. Are there any who know of such a application for either windows, mac or linux? thanks Tobias |

UltraEdit is a PC text editor (don't know about a Linux version?) that allows you to display a file as either ASCII text or a HEX dump - this should do what you want.
Or you could easily write your own, it's a pretty trivial task.
