I thought the 2 channel sound from this cheap DVD player was quite good so I opened it up.
Inside I found AK4381 DAC - a reasonable DAC found in M-Audio revo 7.1 also. Areas that would likely show immediate improvements if modded - replace 4558 opamp i/v with something like LM6172 - remove output muting transistors Anybody looked into this model already before I start? John |

Sorry correct that the op amp is not used as i/v but as loww pass filter for dual differential analog outputs from AK4381.
Also according to the datasheet " DC offset is eliminated on differential analog outs" - thus no need for output capacitor John |
