Default Ipod nano : SNR, THD - does anyone have any info?

Hi,

I looked on the technical specifications but they don't seem to be listed.

Anyone know them ?

Cheers,

Ashley.

Hi,

If Ipod's were cheap I wouldn't care but they cost as much as a integrated amp!

Listened to an Ipod 40gb. I have no technical spec's to go on so it's subjectivity all the way!

It didn't sound any better than my portable cdplayer atleast to me. I noticed the volume went much higher on the Ipod.

I don't understand how an audio device can be sold with so little technical audio spec's ?

That's because it's not audio, it's lifestyle. Have you ever seen technical specifications used to sell mobile phones?

I take your point on lifestyle. It seems like a dangerous brand position though...

I'm confused as I see Ipod reviews in the hi-fi mag's....

The reviews don't really touch much on sound quality. All there is is Kbs, USB2, AAC, 20gb, iTunes, scrolling menus, photos, etc.

My uncle bought one for my cousin for x-mas,and had me set it up,and load it with music, etc.
With higher bitrate MP3's that were ripped well,it sounded pretty darn good to the two of us.The MP3's of the MFSL remaster of Pink Floyd sounded great.
But MP3's that are ripped poorly always sound bad.

Ipods rock. My main argument with planet10 is they are for listening to music on the go. They are not a hi fi device and no will ever be. The sell thousands of them beause they are portable reliable and work great. I bought the green ipod 4gig and love it i store all mp3's on it because when i walk i hear other sounds so who cares how the audio is. If i want clear clean audio ill go to my home stereo, and not rely on my ipod.
