What is cd-reader software (or error re-reading); do you mean a software that is trying to recover data from damaged CDs?

I think he's looking for something to compare checksums of two wave files or similar.

Reading CD's you could use 'cdparanoia', or just simply 'dd'.
For comparing the binary images, 'bsdiff'. -- Living the lie since 1985 |

Use EAC and install the accurate rip dll, available here: http://www.accuraterip.com/
it maintains a database of checksums for most common cd's and performs an error check by comparing the checksum in it's database and the track you are currently reading or ripping. This way you easily know whether or not there has been a read error, and can re-rip the track if needed.

cdparanoia uses a number of techniques to correct, or detect and report errors (including rereading sectors). Probably reading its FAQ would be most useful: http://www.xiph.org/paranoia/faq.html |
