I'm finishing up my NOS DAC, similar to DDDAC, and want to add a Toslink receiver. I'm having trouble finding a source for the TORX173 devices. Anyone know a source, preferably in the US?

digikey.com - search for part # "TORX179" - better bandwidth than the 173 that's pretty hard to find

Unfortunately, they show no stock.
Mouser and Newark show no such part. |

OK, Digikey has a TORX141, which looks like a 3 volt version.
I think I can use that. Neil |

Of course, they won't........only Digi-key is a Toshiba distributor. And they are a pain to deal with. As are almost all of the Japanese semi companies.

You beat me to the 3.3V version.
Only one I know of. Some other J. A. Pan, Inc. outfit may make them, but good luck finding them. At one time, you could order replacement parts from NA Philips. You may try some of the places that cater to the service techies........they may have some. Jocko |
