Hi All,
Are there any bargain cd (or DVD) players around at the moment that i could use as a transport?
The Toshiba SD-3980 was raved about a while back but i don't think this is available now.. are the latest replacement models as good, or was this a fluke? Anything else that's any good, or should i build transport based on a CD-Rom drive?
Tim
Currently listening to: Meridian 206, Quad II, Pentachords, BK Sub

Any of the Pioneer players that use the Stable Platter System. Very good transport, Wadia and (EAD) Enlightened Audio Design didn't use them for nothing.
Mind that the model buy has both coax and toslink, some only had toslink, but with those if you instal a Tentlabs XO3 clock you get a coax output with the clock anyway.
Cheers George

thanks for the replies
I'm probably going to go up the CD-rom route as a transport, there's a good current thread on this.
