Exclamation kwak clock mistake

Hi guys, I made a mistake in the connection of the JFET. Swapped the drain and source. However the player played normally while testing.
After a while there was a burnning smell. However i could not find the source of the smell. In the the days following that incident, the player played without a hitch. today i realised my error while looking at the schematic of KC7. I immediately went to change the connection expecting it not to work (JFET might be spoilt). To my surprise, the KC7 still works. Why is this so and also is it adviseable to change the J309 to a new one? Measured a DC voltage of 1.1V at the output.

Thanks

Did you mail Elso Kwak about this? He may be the best one to answer you.
