I have a Beocenter 9000 with a deffective laser (according to repair center). This Beocenter 9000 has a CDM2 mechanism. I have an old Philips CD620 wit a CDM4 mechanism. Can the CDM4 be used to "upgrade" the CDM2?
Also, does anyone know of a good B&O repair center in the San Francisco Bay Area? Thanks, Chris |

Chris,
I think you can use a CDM4 laser unit. But I think it's better to look for an older type of a CD620 or 650 of phillips. These have a CDM 2 unit which fits into a Becenter 9000. There are very few good B&O repair centers, at least in the Netherlands. If you find one you are lucky. I own a Beocenter 8000, wich is almost the same as a beocenter 9000 and it took me more that a year to find a good repair shop. Mine had also problems with the CD player. Good luck, Thomas |
