Default Denon 2900 clock supply hookup.

Hi All,
I was wondering where to hookup the XO supply for my XO3, so it will be switched on at the same time the 2900 switches on?
Guido advised to use this config for the clock to always work correctly.

I now have the XO supply permanently on, and this does not work all the time.

I have the pdf format service manual.

Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Ramon

You could use the existing clock powersupply to drive a relay that then could switch your XO supply on and off at the same time.

D.A.R.R.Y.L. you could solder the mains input of the XO Supply to the primary (mains) of the Denons mains transformer, this way when the Denon is swiched on so is your XO supply and XO3.

Cheers George

That could potentially work but you are likeley to get the timing "way" off as the ps supplies are very different.
There is timing logic for groups of ps supply in the denon. Doing what I suggest gets you very close to keeping the original startup times. This way has worked everytime in many of my ps modifications in various players.

Would you advise a relais between the XO supply and the clock (22 volt line) driven by the original clock voltage? This seems faster to me because the XO supply is already at 'operating speed' the whole time.
Or would you advise to put a relais between 220volt and the XO supply, driven by the original clock volatge?
Thanks.

I dont know what kind of xo supply you have but to get the timing right you should control the 3.3v feeding the clock.

Its probably easier to avoid "dirt" finding its way into the 3.3v supply if you apply the relay at the 22volt feed but if this supply then is slow to start up you might still have a problem.
Unless the clock supply is very slow to get to the right voltage you could also probably let the 220v feed run off the main power off/on switch as well.
