And you believe reviews ?

One would have to be a strange reviewer to say one liked something in the hope of keeping it when in reality the reverse was true.
It is always nice to talk in extremes to proove someone is wrong. You can see it like this: in case a nice device is tested one can write a bit nicer about it.

A friend of me still use a non oversampling DAC close to that one about
|| DHTRob - System: Non-oversampling TDA1543 dac (NoNo-dac).. ||
No high resolution digital sources for 24 bit/96 KHz are connected, only two classic compact disc player with S/P-DIF output (16 bit, 44,1 KHz). The models are the DiscMagic from Cambridge Audio and an older Marantz with CDM4 transport, model CD-52. Both players are equipped with a separate clock generating unit from LC technology. The digital cable lead is very short (arround 0,3 meters).
My question: will he get a sonic enhancement, if he replace the SPDIF receiver IC CS8412 against an other modern version like CS8420 or CS8416?
Thank you for your comments.

Hi, I would keep the 8412 and use the monkeysect values for the PLL. Just use google for it. It are just different values for 3 parts. The 8412 will perform better. You could replace the 8412 for a newer revision if you can find them. I got rid of the last 2 last week so don't ask me.

Maybe changing the 8412 for a DIR9001 to CS8412 adapter as found on Ebay will improve things. CS8416 certainly won't ! I don't know CS8420 AFAIK.
