Default How to use the TSB43CB43A chip form TI

Hi,

I like to handel diffrent audio data formats like SACD, S/PDIV, DVD Audio and to send them over Firewire. Now I try to figer out how to use the TSB43CB43A chip from TI, but I have some problem to understand the data sheet.

Perhaps someone has some experience with handling that chip. How can I programm it, how can I set up the Configuration Register and so on. Would be cool if anyone can give me some helpful links or good tips what kind of Compiler, Software and Development tool I have to use.

Thanx Tobias

From the TI product folder description:

Quote:
The device also features an embedded ARM7TDMI microprocessor core with access to 256K bytes of internal program memory. The ARM7 is embedded to process 1394 specific transactions, thus significantly reducing the processing power required by the host CPU and the development time required by the user
If I understand it right you have to program that ARM7 controller. You'll nead at least a ARM7 De****** / Programmer and an ARM7 cross compiler (ARM, Keil, Tasking). I don't think it's a DIY project as the development tools are professional (quite high $$$$) stuff...

Thanks,

But I'm wondering if I just can setup the Configuraion Registers (CRFs) to a spesific Audiofromat like S/PDIV for example and then that chip handels all the incoming data automaticly and sends it out over the Firewire bus.

So I would not need to program the ARM7. But for me its hard to understand if that is possible. I think its not really explained in the data sheet. Because in that case everthing would be much easier.
