Hi
Today I realized that I for several years now had a digital volume control laying around. I have used the Creative Extigy external USB sound card as a stand-alone DA converter with an optical S/PDIF connection from my Shuttle-X computer. As it turns out the volume control also work in stand-alone mode (no computer connecetd) on the optical S/PDIF in/out on this Creative unit. I have no idea as to how much jitter are introduced doing so. But now I can go digital all the way from CD to DEQ analog out with a digital volume controll with remote. The Creative Extigy is discontinued, but one can find used items in eBay for less than 40€. regards HansR |
