Interesting. It seems you’ve changed your mind regarding balanced DAC chips.

Back to the topic: I recently did the piggyback thing to an AN 1.2. I like to try things for myself and not rely on the claims of the diyAudio mountebanks. Immediately after the operation I noticed a big difference. The sound was much louder and rather crude. Of course, doubling the DAC chips doubled the current output. After I halved the value of the I/V resistors the sound improved. Is it better than a single DAC chip? Hard to tell. It certainly doesn’t hurt once you tweak the I/V resistors.
