SP/DIF out of SAA7220

On a pubblication I found that the SAA7220 Philips decoder has a SP/DIF output on pin 14. The datasheet only refers this pin as "digital audio output". Can anyone confirm that the signal out of pin 14 is SP/DIF?

In the same pubblication is reported that SP/DIF is available at pin 32 of SAA7310. Since in my player the SAA7220 is faulty, can I use pin 32 of SAA7310 to pick the digital SP/DIF output? If so, I would be able to use the player as a transport.

7220 is a filter and it has sp/dif out. 7310 is a decoder and has no sp/dif. This wont work.

pen 32 is de-emphasis output for dil package (never seen one) and HF-input for the QFP package.

So replace the 7220

I have a spare s/h SAA7220 if you have problems obtaining a new one.

In answer to your earlier question, here's how Philips do the spdif in the CD160
