Wink non-os CS8414 with reclock

Hi,

I just completed a board for a DAC. I would first thank the forum. This is where I gather most of the information on the design. As can be seen, thisi is a simple design of CS8414 + AD1865. The reclocking is provided by a 40MHz oscillator. NE555 provides the automatic reset following the fashion in ESP website. Have been listening for a week or so. The sound is tighter than my Rotel CDP. Then I started to think what would happen if I put a Kwak Clock 7 to replace the oscillator. I took out the oscillator and connected the clock output to terminal pin X7-2. No juice. Slient. The crystal used was a 30MHz. Reconnect the oscillator, back came the music. With my limited digital knowledge, I have no idea why it didnn't work. Would somebody shed a light.

Cheers,

KK

Talking Clear schematic

Hi nomick and all,

Sorry for the blur picture. Wrong format. This should be clearer.

Cheers,
