Default Possible to connect something to a SAA7000 ?

Beside a useless SAA7030 of course...

Datasheets for the SAA70*0 serie were posted here : http://tube.fw.hu/ , so I had to have a look (since I own a cd350 gathering dust). The digital chain is described as such : the SAA7010 demodulates the data, the SAA7020 detects and corrects the errors, the SAA7000 interpolates what couldn't be corrected and separates the data into left and right.

The datasheets say that :

- the SAA7020 is connected to the SAA7000 by "16bit serial data (two's complement)".
- the SAA7000 can output data in those formats : "offset binary or two's complement, 14 or 16bit".
- the output of the SAA7000 is controlled by what is sent by the SAA7020.

Now, I'm rather hopeless when it comes to digital formats. But my questions are :

- I suppose we have to connect any filter or dac after the SAA7000 ?
- Is there anything worth mentionning we could put there ?
- Can we change the output format to something more usable ?
- How do we actually control what is output by the SAA7000 ? I cannot find it in the SAA7020 datasheet.

Lots of questions I'm affraid. But thanks for any answer

Yes

NPC SM5842/3/7 - Needs a cut, a strap, a new clock and a clock divider in addition to the necessary connections

Serial input digital filters and SPDIF transmitters - Needs a good few 74/4000 packages or a CPLD/FPGA dependng on your approach.

Very simple is connecting SAA7000 with AD1851. You only need change format from binary offset to two`s complement and add clock inventer.

Default Connect something to saa7000

Hello

But is it possible to connect a receiver chip to a saa7000?

It looks straightforward to connect a saa7000 to a dac chip, but how do I convert the i2s data to the 16-bit serial data, the saa7000 needs for input?

Anyone figured out a logic to do that?

the saa7000 needs a clock and a data stream, but the words in the data are separated by gaps?!?

(grübel, grübel)

There is no logical reason to connect a receiver to the SAA7000.

Do you know another chip that separates serial data into left and right channel binary offset data, for feeding discrete channel information to the tda1514a?

The DF1700/SM5813 and PMD100 oversampling filters will perform the task you require.

Great!

That solves many problems!

Sincere Thanks!
