Nope, no manual. But this aristona is just a rebranded philips (106?). The 650 manual should be ok for most of the stuff.

Depends what you want to do, upgrade or use the base as i2s source for home made dacs etc.

I really consider of using some non-oversampling dac DIY with - 8x TDA1543 (i already order 8 pieces tda's) in paralel (i think at power 7-8V for dacs) directly from i2s of the player or experimenting in CS8414 + 8xTDA1543 DAC from the digital out...

Both my Philips CD 640 and CD 660 use that same PCB with 7210/7220/1541/833.
640/660 have CDM-2 though, so servo pcb could be different then also.
