i have a sound card from p3 board.can anyone tell me how to convert it into a preamp.like i mean to say it acts as preamp for pc speakers via windows gui.is there any way to convert it to a preamp with gain control(bass treble controls etc) so it takes i/p from discman(very low o/p::sony) and gives out the preamped signals
thanks in advance |

i should make myself more clear
i would like to convert theonboard sound card into a preamplifier so that i can drive my gainclones w\for which o/p of discman is very low in a nutshell, plz tell me how to convert a computer sound card to work independently as a preamplifier.(i.e outside computer, far away from computer i.e totally independent of computer as a new and seperate unit) i have both p3 and p4 board soundcards(onboard ones) |

The short reply is that this is not practical.. Your sound cards have AD/DA and everything else is done in the digital domain. You would be better off purchasing an inexpensive pre-amplifier kit from one of your local online vendors.

unfortunately i dont think theres a way of doing it, u d b better off by purchasing a cheap computer cd drive with more than one button and then trying to modify the same for driving a gainclone with buufers at the input of gainclones.
