Which Marantz CD-player.

Which "standard" Marantz is the best?
CD10, CD11 LE, CD14 or CD16 SE.
And which one if I like to mod it? Which one gives the best opportuneties?

The CD-16 (CDM-4.x) is way better than CD-14 (CDM-12.x), the CD-10 and maybe the 11 would also be good machines.

Worked on a cd10 some time ago. Did not listen to it, just fixed the transport. What could be nice is that the dig filter and dac are on a separate pcb afaik. Take it out and you can put anything inside connected with i2s to the decoder. It was build like a tank.
Standard is the tda1547, cant comment on that.

cd15/16/10/11LE = cdm4md and 2 x tda1547 ("dac7")
cd17 = cdm12.3 and one tda1547.

cd15/16/17 have hdam modules,
cd15 has xlr out.

The cd16 is 13kg, the others are 16

Remember vaguely that the 11LE had problems, or maybe there was an 11 without the LE (?). Anyway the 15 and 10 replaced it, later the 16 and 17 came along.

cd15 has selected 1547 think they used a blue star for indication instead of silver crown marketing
