What Mech in Marantz CD84???

What mech is in a Marantz CD84? Is it worth chasing this machine...
I know CD94 and friend has a 95 transport but what is in a CD84?

I'd say a MK1 as I am unaware of any TDA1540 machines with a MK2 assembly.

Hi.
I have a fully working CD74, and a working display from a CD84. Can I simply stick the 84 display into the 74's front panel for it to become (effectively) an 84.
I don't want to chance it in case I blow something.

Also, please do not think me rude, but the CD204 is completely different (layout-wise) from the CD304. It's the 104 and 304 that are the same, save for the remote, thought they do all share the CDM1 (mostly, some are fitted with the CDM0).

I have done it before (swap a CD-84 front panel to a CD-74) in order to be remote controllable. The display mask is somewhat different on the 84 because of the IR sensor. There is also a separate remote control PCB on the 84 front panel. Better to swap the complete front panel assembly, not only the display.

I have the whole front unit, only the aluminium front is missing. I only kept if for spares, and this seems (now) like a good way to use it.
I'll change the whole lot and see what happens.
