Default Crossovers

How hard is it to make an adjustable digital crossover module?
Kinda like the car audio industry has adopted.
What chip are they using.. and how does it operate?

for very little money you can buy something like the Behringer Ultradrive DCX2496. This might do most what you want ?

Default Try this from foobar2k...

...if you have a decent 7.1 (or 5.1) sound board, and some power amplifiers. Foobar can use kernel streaming or WASAPI, so it is not a compromised solution IMO.
