This IC was used extensively in DVD/CD players ,early 2001 as an RF amp and dual laser supply chip and commonly uses the Phillips type VAL1202 transport.
I have a player in that will play DVDs ok but will not load any redbook CD, no TOC at all.Exchanging the laser head for a new one does not fix the problem. The DVD laser read is turning on (reads about half a volt) but the redbook CD laser is not (only reads millivolts). The photo diodes look to share DVD or CD formats so I'm homing in on it being a laser problem. Can anyone tell me what search routines it will engage in when a disc is loaded (either format) I.e: will it turn on the DVD laser diode first? (pins 64), then CD laser diode?(pin 62) or will doth lasers on the head unit be powered at the same time? What is "MON1 line for? http://www.alldatasheet.com/view.jsp?Searchword=TZA cheers andjur78 |
