philips dvp-9000

Hi,

anybody on this forum having any experience with the dvp-9000 philips machine? I had a 963 sa which - sadly - never returned from service repair...
It is replaced now with the above mentioned dvp-9000. I had the 963 mainly for playing ordinary (red-book) cd's. And I must say I was very content with it - especially the upsampling facility did it to me. Now the 9000 seems like a different machine to me soundwise. Although the bass is authoritive and the top end ok it sounds somehow thinnish. It's not completely broken in yet, but I was just curious if someone else on the forum already had some experience with the machine?

BTW: included is a TERRIFIC remote control. Never seen any better from Philips (not that THAT says much though).
