Would like to hear from anyone who has taken a cd changer (5 CDs or more) and modded it to use with an external DAC through digital out. Not worried about TOSLink. What changer did you pick and why? What mods did you do? Power, pulse transformers? I saw Dorkus'
Thanks! Tony Da |

I had once a Sherwood 5CD carousel changer. A very good sounding commersial machine, with AD1861 DACs x2 and Yamaha DF - not a surprise why it sounded so good, although the overall build was bad. If you find a machine w. good DAC, you just mod it, the external is not necessary.
