Are the Toshiba 3960 and Toshiba 4960 still the rage, or are there any newer ones I should know about?
Most of the modifications for the3960/4960 that I see involve removing the output stage opamp and leaving the naked DAC to drive that cable all by its lonesome self. That doesn't sound too wise to me. The potential for high-order distortion because of loading is lurking right around the corner |
