Default Teac P-700 transport need help

My P-700 transport put aside for a while,
now it doesn't work I open the top cover and found it's clamper didn't
come up but the tray kept open after I close it.

Anybody knows the transport well please give me a hand.

What is this chip "uPD75208W"? I can't find any detail information about it.

Thanks for your attention!

Default Re:Teac P-700 transport need help

Hi Hugo,

Thanks for your help, but I check the belt it's still in good condition.

Do you know how the clamper work? There is a leaf switch behind,

when the tray closed, the clamper should go up to the turn table,

clamp the disk and turn the disk(that's the VRDS way).

The leaf switch now always been pushed to the left side and the

clamper didn't go up to clamp the disk, this is what happened in

my P-700.

I don't know how it works when the transport in working condition,

( the switch leads are connected to uPD75208 pin 26 and 27) ,

I mean what triggers the clamper motor to turn the clamper

go up or go down?

Please help!

Wilmore

Wilmore,
It sounded like a belt to me. Other than that I don't know the transport but from experience I usually suspect mechanics rather than electronics in the first place.
Let’s just wait for Teac specialists to jump in.
