Hi,
I just bought sony mdr-v600 headphones which have a 5hz to 30000 khz frequency range. I am now looking to buy a PORTABLE CD PLAYER which can handle that. My question is: Does the cd player has anything to do with the frequency response or any will do as long as the headphones can handle 5 to 30000? Because whenever a look for portable device, the specification says that machine can handle from 10hz to 20000khz. So are they only talking about the headphones they offer with the player or is it really the player that cannot handle wider frequency? Do you know any portable cd player that can read 5hz to 30000 khz (and if possible affordable device)? Thank so much... Pierre |

I really doubt that any portable player has the ability to produce 5Hz to 30kHz

Well, seeing that CDs are sampled at 44.1KHz, there's no way anyone's trying to record audio at 30KHz. (Nyquist theorem, et al.)
That statement of requency range on the CD player is for the CD player itself, not any other device. This is also a practical limitation inherent in CDs themselves.
