Easy way to fry Rotel RCD855 - help needed

Hi,

While doing nonos mod (done that before, successfully), becouse I can't count more then 10 pins rightly, I conected pin 23 from SAA7220 to pin 12 insted of pin 11 of SAA7210

to restore mute funcion. All I got after "mod" is error message at dispay, really hot SAA7210/7220 and TDA1541A, dics doesn't spin, lader is working though

, voltages for Philips chipset seems to be OK.

Any hint how to fix it, thank you?

Oh...that's a shame....

....u have destroyed the chips i guess. .

the TDA1541 should be still safe.

any chance of finding a cheap old philips player , perhaps with dead lasers to cannibalise the SAA7210 , 7220?

I have both off them brand new, no prabs there

, but what else could went wrong, how to confirm they are

? I REALLY don't want to make mistake any more, at list in this player

I've just changed the SAA7210 & SAA7220 for new ones, nothing new happend

Anyone out there with service manual for Rotel RCD-855, I really, really need one for sure...Any sugestion in the meanetime?

I would like to help you. Maybe you also burned clock circuit?
I don´t have sheme , but I think if player don´t read cd , there is something wrong with that part of player. DAC chip really don´t have much influence on player that don´t read discs.

Yes, you are probably right about that, my guess is that I also burned a Motorola DSP procesor and/or servo controler and who knows what... Is there a kind soul willing to donate/sale Motorola chip from old Philips/Marantz players with designation:

I'm very happy to inform you that I manage to fix my Rotel RCD-855, thanks to Dave Stocks (S-Man) from G.B. who was kind and sent me a service manual. One BC338 and 74HCT05 went bad, and that's it

. If someone needs a manual, drop me a mail...
