Hang on a minute. I suggested a while back that maybe the PC was outputting an AES3 signal since the voltage levels matched, now you tell us the DAC is actually a DEQX. Would it be a Behringer? If so then the DEQX needs an AES3 signal and can read the PC output.
Where did you get the idea you had S/PDIF signal?
