Hi,
I am wondering if anyone has done any mods to the dvd 5900? If so what have you found to be a benefit? Thanks God bless... Mark |

I have modded one DVD-A11 (same model in Europe)
I bypassed all electrolytics around DAC IC-s with Wima 2.2uF polyprop caps. Replaced the main 27MHz clock with Guido Tents XO2. Replaced all opamps in analog stages with OPA2134 (all channels). Sound after these changes improved in almost every way but a direct comparison with Accuphase player revealed the latter to be more "musical" and easy flowing. Later I modified the first opamps after DAC IC to LM6172. This seemed to make a change in musicality to right direction. We never retried the Accuphase comparison unfortunately. |
