Which does not make much of a difference when copyright is concerned.

ElectroPT is "giving" away material that was ALL manually scanned by Remco. The pdf files on the cdr are not original Philips PDF files ( if those existed at that time !? ). Remco charges the 20 Euro for the many hours of scanning labour and composing the cdr. Most of the material on the cdr is not obtainable from philips anymore so this particular cdr is of great value and it is a service to the DIY community. Everything was handscanned and quality is acceptable.

However one can not expect it to be perfect. If one wants perfection one should (have) buy (bought) the paper versions ( when they were still available ). I am not connected to Ultranalog in any way but I think we should be well informed in this.

If it would be original manufacturers PDF files it would be different. I have a lot of original PDF files from various manufacturers and I could not charge any money for them as I did not put any money or labour in them. I could pass them to other people as I did until recently but this particular action made me change my mind.

Even those can cost money, mainly service manuals.
I have the complete schematic of the Philips CD650.
The service manual included on that CD lacks several parts of the schematic, like the dac and the analog stage.
I can't figure out the value of this, but then...

One incomplete manual out of several complete manuals still makes for a cdr with value. Maybe he should have just omitted the cd650 manual as it is indeed incomplete. If cd650 is the one you are looking for I can understand some friction at the customers side But I am sure there is a solution for that.

Planet 10,

It seems strange you are doing this, since you ofered to host the service manuals yourself....

Would you care to explain this?
Would the "others" let you?

If you get Philips to contact you about the copyrighted material please CC it to me and please delete my posts, I will not post anymore about the subject.

Until then please reopen this thread for the public.

Jean-Paul,

I have boght the CD from remco, and after discussing the issue with him he did not seemed helpfull in any way. Since I have paid for it and is now as mine as it is Remco's I do with it as I please.

Please stop this prossecution and censureship!

PS: Prior doing this I have discussed with some one about the subject, even If we didnt see eye to eye in some aspects, I tried to seek and understand someone else's persepctive about all this. I'm not a dishonest person, its all without profit!

I just ordered 2 CD's with the complete Maison de L'Audiophile articles from 77 and up, from someone who took the effort to scan all that stuff.
I can not imagine anyone from the old French crew objecting to that, so why should the Eindhoven blokes do, its good advertising of the brand.

I just realised i am surrounded by Philips labels.
Even my audio-labor table is former Philips laboratory equipment, my variac has the Philips logo, the scope.
When i try to relax, go down to the living and switch on the tv, its also Philips everywhere staring at me.
Help !

Poco feito, ElectroPt
