Default Got a Burr-Brown DEM-DAI1804 A/D board today

I ordered the board on Monday and it showed up this morning. It is
USD$299 direct from TI/BB. This was a way of "cheaping out" and
getting a nice A/D stage for recording off vinyl.

Burr-Brown seems to have put alot of good stuff into the demo board.
The PCB is the size of a cd jewel case. It's two-layer very heavy glass
epoxy stock. Connectors are 2x Neutrik XLR female and 2x RCA for
line level in. Outputs are 1x TOSLINK and 1x 50ohm RCA. A BNC is
also there for external clocking. There's a builtin clock onboard.

Other nice things. The four OPA2134's are socketed 4-pin dips, so if
you fry 'em, you can replace them. All other ICs are SMD. All electrolytics
are Elna Cerafines (red and gold). PSU electrolytics are bypassed with
what appears to be some kind of film cap - polystyrene I think. All
the R's are 1/8W metal films.

The PCB has two ground planes ; split right down the middle! One is
analog ground and the other is digital ground. The control logic has
its own 5V digital supply in. The A/D converter also its own dedicated
5V supply. The analog stage has private 15V bipolar power in.

Quite abit of care was taken for a demo board. My only negative comment are the 10uF coupling caps in-line with the signal (you have
to see the schematic). This may, or may not, be an issue - I will have
to listen.

Next week - time to build a small DC power supply. I'll let you
know how it sounds. I have a Sheldon Stokes Tube DAC board that
I can hook up to the ADC's tail end so I can to A/D then D/A.
