Hello !
I've obtained an Tecnics SL-PG 490 CD player from my friend for free. Player have a decent quality sound (for 100 $ player). I'm wondering what mod can I make to make it sound better. For me this would be the first try to make some mod on CD players so any advice would be useful. My point is to learn how to aproach to CD players mod (some step by step procedure how to start). Thanks in advance ! Cheers

Hello
SL-PG 490 has CDM 12.1 transport and is nice for tweaking (I am searchig one for myself) . Maybe is the best way to upgrade it with nonoversampling TDA 1543 DAC; this is easy and very good sounding. You have a lot of this on net, look also elektro-n forum (SLO). Benjamin |
