Hi all
Picked up one of these beasts and was just wondering if anyone knows anything about this player. Looks like it was built to Mission spec in Belgium by Philips and looks a lot like a Philips 471 or somethinh like that. Is the 4/11 a hall effect motor? It looks like a CDM 2. IE it is a plastic plate on stilts, not the typical square with one rounded side as per 4/19. It appears that the unit has one added pcb, the sigal seems to go there after the outputs (NE5532) on the Philips Mother board. The PCB uses 5534 and 5532 and analog switches HFE 4904 I think. What is the reason for this? Seems to do volume control via remote but also seem to use better quality caps etx then the std philips fare. Still find it strange they take the signal after it has been buggered by the Philips board.... Guillaume |

Yes,
The 4/11 has a hall motor afaik. The HEF ic probably IS the volume control. Seen them used for this in a meredian pre.
