If you decide to scrap it.... please PM me and I will forward you my address..... I will even pay for the shipping costs
Really? There always seems to be a few on Ebay!
If I were you I'd mod the CD17. Yes, a CD63 can be taken a long way beyond a standard or lightly modified CD17 but still, a 17 sounds quite good as standard IMO.
I have already heavily modded the CD17
Bigger PSU caps.
Oscons in the right places
Bypassed the HDAM modules
Removed muting transistors
Changed output coupling caps (yes I realise I could omit those but I was reluctant to do so)
Next step is to replace the NJM2114s - but I need to pluck up the courage to remove them (they are surface mounted). It would be nice if I could find an adapter to change the surface mount to a standard DIP socket.
I may try and solder a socket in - but I think it might lift the tracks....
Keep going, lads!
We're nearly at 15,000.
Oh, gotta keep paying attention now, I wouldn't want to miss that one!
Ray
Very useful indeed.
Thanks!
Also way off topic..... Look where I have been last weekend : Welkom op Audiopaul.nl! - De audiofiele website met setbeschrijving, muziek, reviews en meer.
It is quite complex because I have 6 TX inside, feeding 9 separated PSU.
Of course it could be done but it would mean a LOT of work and probably a lot of tears.... This old PCB is already too much reworked.
I would like to start over from the beginning using a fresh untouched "pacient" ....
Knowing what I know today, I would do first things first
