I have a marantz 67 mkiis but without manual, I would want to ask if possible when i power on the instrument that the volume is to the least one and not at the most.

Hi,

I can't imagine that being a realistic DIY job. It would make more a sense to attenuate the output with a pot in my opinion, as this would corrupt the sound less than using the inbuilt digital volume control.

But as said Simon, it's a digital attenuation and it's bad.

Executed the HDAM bypass yesterday. UV101's details work perfectly.

The good: New opamps w/caps, New power supply caps, HDAM bypass

The bad: One cut track (bridged), Couple half-burnt solder pads

The ugly: None yet

After just a few mods my CD63SE sounds great. It's hard to believe that I've just started.

On to: muting circuits, clocks, diodes and voltage regulators.

You can have the versatile AudioGD clock wich can be used to reclock the servo at the same time for it's already fitted with many dividers. That may add noise but for the price it's unbeatable. You can check Brent's clock, a high-end one.

2 might not be much better than one. If you want to spend more buy a better clock, like the C2. That would be my choice. Either of those clocks can run 16.9 and 8.4mhz at the same time.

I bought an Audio-gd clock and power supply. It seems like an easy first step. Hopefully I'll be upgrading these parts later.

Edit: It shouldn't hurt since I think I measured 1.6us of jitter yesterday.

Quite a price difference... I was more looking for the USD 20-50 pricerange. Will get a super clock (or a superclock) once I start modding a truly great player/dac (tda1541+tubes or so)...

Any alternatives? No-one seems to use the former stars anymore (Kwak, Tent, Flea)

Superclock is a downgrade from a C2.

And a truly great player is the player you work most on usually! The DAC chip gives a certain flavour, sure, but the greatness comes from mods!
